ART IN MOTION

I don’t have formal art training when I started painting at about 35 years old. I had no idea what I was doing – the truth is that most of the time when I paint I have no idea what I’m doing but sometimes magic happens. My first paintings were small watercolors, Christmas cards to be exact and it grew from there.

I’ve been in the publishing industry for 40+ years and have had the pleasure of working with many gifted graphic designers, photographs and illustrations and that connection has allowed me to be part of creating art throughout my career and doing my own paintings is an extension of that creative passion.

I love not knowing exactly what is going to happen when I paint – the only control I really have is the colors I choose and where I put them – then motion takes over and I get what I get. Sometimes I’m thrilled with the results and some paintings have four or five other paintings underneath them. I’m not exactly sure what I’m looking for in the final product but when I see it I know it.
