Much of my life feels accidental, and much of what I have tried to control is beyond my control. Most of the time, I set a direction and then adapt to whatever unfolds — that’s life! My art reflects that same spirit: I let go and let it flow. That’s why I call my art Intentional Accidents.
I love not knowing exactly what will happen when I paint. My only real control lies in the colours I choose and where I place them — then motion takes over and magic happens. Sometimes I’m delighted by the result; other times, a painting hides four or five earlier attempts beneath it. I’m never quite sure what I’m seeking, but when I see it, I know it.
I have no formal art training. I began painting around age 35 — small watercolours at first, Christmas cards, really — and it grew from there.
After years in the publishing industry and owning a marketing agency, I’ve worked alongside brilliant designers, photographers, and illustrators. Creating my own paintings is a natural extension of that lifelong creative journey — my own, slightly unconventional, path of influence.
Explaining my art in words feels futile; the experience should be yours, not mine. I can only share why I paint. Something inside me says, "It’s time to paint," and I follow that impulse. I hope that my work stirs something in you — your own feelings, your own creativity.
I’d love to hear what you see and feel when you look at my art. Please send me an email.
